The Township of Beckwith is located on the most easterly side of the County of Lanark and is bounded by the Townships of Montague and Drummond/North Elmsley as well as the Town of Mississippi Mills, as well as the City of Ottawa. It is approximately 24,335 square hectares in area. The 2006 population is estimated to be 6,387.
The township hall is located in the village of Blacks Corners, approximately 50km southwest of Canada's Parliament Buildings and just a 5-minute drive to nearby Carleton Place.
The weather station is located just 1km southwest of Blacks Corners.

About This Station and Website
The station is powered by the Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 Plus integrated sensors. This sensor data is collected and analyzed using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge, temperature and humidity sensors, a UV sensor and a solar radiation sensor. Lightning detection is done by a Boltek LD-250 receiver and lightning data analysis is done using Nexstorm software by Astrogenic Systems.
